Data Deletion Policy for Ain Shikkha O Sheba

At Ain Shikkha O Sheba, we believe you should have full control over your personal information. This Data Deletion Policy describes how users can request the deletion of their accounts and associated data, what data is removed, and our retention practices.

1. Types of Data Covered for Deletion

When you request the deletion of your account, the following categories of data are marked for permanent removal:

  • Profile & Account Data: Name, email address, phone number, password hash, and profile preferences.

  • Consultation History: Text logs, notes, and documents uploaded during chats with our human legal experts.

  • AI Chat Records: Your complete history of prompts and interactions with the AI Legal Assistant.

  • Library Personalization: Bookmarks, reading history, and saved e-books.

2. How to Request Data Deletion

We provide two simple methods for users to delete their account and data:

Method A: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

  1. Open the Ain Shikkha O Sheba app.

  2. Navigate to Settings or Profile Menu.

  3. Tap on Account Actions or Privacy Settings.

  4. Select Delete Account and confirm your choice.

Method B: Email Request

If you cannot access the app, you can submit a deletion request via email:

  • Email to: [Insert Support Email Address]

  • Subject Line: Data Deletion Request - [Your Registered Phone Number/Email]

  • Required Info: Please send the request from the email address associated with your account so we can verify your identity.

3. Data Deletion Timeline and Process

Once an account deletion request is submitted:

  • Immediate Deactivation: Your access to the app will be revoked instantly, and your profile will be hidden from view.

  • Processing Period: Your data will be permanently purged from our active application databases within 30 days.

  • Backup Logs: Residual data contained in our encrypted secure backups may take up to 90 days to be completely overwritten due to standard backup cycles.

4. Exceptions to Full Deletion

We cannot completely delete certain data points under the following specific circumstances:

  • Financial Records: If you made a transaction (e.g., paid for a premium consultation or an ebook), we must retain the financial transaction logs for audit, tax, and legal compliance as required by national laws.

  • Anonymized AI Data: Aggregated data used to train and improve our AI models that cannot be linked back to any specific individual is not deleted, as it no longer constitutes personal data.

  • Legal Hold: If your data is subject to a valid legal request, subpoena, or ongoing regulatory dispute, we are legally required to preserve it until the matter is resolved.
